Unlike other cushions which leave the stomach unsupported when lying on one side, the Hippocampe-Relax cushion supports the baby in-utero and avoids pressure on the pregnant mother’s back from four months of pregnancy. The blood circulation in lower limbs of the future mother is facilitated. If mother needs to be examined on her back, when placing the cushion beneath her head and arms, she will suffer less from vasovagal syncope.

Baby is relaxed and can easily be checked out when lying on his or her back on my cushion whilst bent over with the edges fixed. It also helps with digestion.

I’d also like to suggest an alternative position for pregnant women before heading off on maternity ward or in the labour room: Leaning on a balloon and facing it, squat on your heels, on the “middle” of the Hippocampe-Relax cushion, placed between your lower back and your feet. Pregnant women can then get onto all fours during contractions and rest on my cushion; both of these positions help with labour whilst allowing baby to move to the pelvis more easily.
